The school is closely involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. There are also junior sailing courses (available only to those who can swim) and these take place after school between April and October in Lamlash Bay. Some pupils have the opportunity to spend a week in school time on outdoor activities organised and led by the Arran Outdoor Education Resource. There may also be opportunities for excursions abroad and exchanges with French and German pupils.  Pupils are encouraged to take advantage of these various activities as part of their social education to broaden their interests and to put spare time to good use.
